SDG 16 ART BASED PROJECT
I have created this art piece to teach SDG 16 (PEACE, JUSTICE AND STRONG INSTITUTIONS) with intention to stimulate creativity and inspire future generation of social innovators who will be able to identify problems in their immediate environment and find means to solve them. In the painting is the king of the Jungle, Lion and the Prince of the mankind. The painting depict the peaceful coexistence between creations which was the initial intention of the creator of the planet Earth. Different animals in the painting represent mankind in our diversity: colour, ethnicity and social background. The lion is depicted in the painting as a king that is approachable, respect diversity and fair in its dealings with the different species and colour in its kingdom. The most important lesson in this artwork is that Justice Institution is an integral of peaceful coexistence in our society. GLOBAL WARMING, IT'S TIME TO ACT!
By 2030, the international community has agreed to ensure that all learners acquire the knowledge and skills needed to promote sustainable development, including global citizenship. Hence, our project focus has been Sustainability, Advocacy and Recycling (SDG 12) through interdisciplinary and innovative learning (SDG 4) to tackle the issues of Climate change (SDG 13) and to protect the lives on our planet, Earth (SDG 14 and 15). Recycling is one of the most practical ways of taking action for the survival of our planet. We have created series of artworks using recycled materials including the SDG boxes held in these images by our green champions from Caleb British International School. We have also used old newspapers to create collage works, pappier mache and 3D sustainability art projects. It is scientifically proven for every ton of recycled newspaper, 17 trees are saved.
