ART AND SCIENCE COLLABORATIVE PROJECT

Here is a new sustainability hands-on project from the Caleb STEAM Hub created collaboratively by the Art and Agricultural Science Departments led by Prince Olusegun Adeniyi and Mr Ima. It is another SDGs integration project executed with 85 percent recycled materials where the students put to use their knowledge in the art and sciences.

Prince Olusegun Adeniyi and Mr Ima are advocate of interdisciplinary learning with integration of Sustainable Development Goals. The interdisciplinary learning integrated with the SDGs promote the development and application of what the students have learned in a new way adapted in real life situation.

“Science for me is very close to art. Scientific discovery is an irrational act. It is an intuition which turns out to be reality at the end of it – and I see no difference between a scientist developing a marvellous discovery and an artist making a painting”, Carlo Rubbia, Nobel Prize in Physic.

“Science provides an understanding of a universal experience, and art provides a universal understanding of a personal experience”, Mae C. Jemison, Astronaut.

“The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and science”, Albert Einstein, Physicist.

Consequence upon the above, there is need to strengthened collaboration between the Arts and the Sciences. It is Science encapsulated in Art that becomes innovation, a novel and invention.

The Artwork speaks of Teamwork, Teamwork makes the dream work. “Two are better than one because they have a good reward for their efforts…” Ecclesiastes 4:9.

Creativity is contagious, pass it on…

Appreciation: Many thanks to Mrs Oyeyipo for making the girls available for this project. We appreciate the support of the principal and managements of CBIS.
